Easter was great for us coaches, but it wasn't good for business, meaning the surf was pumping, but too big for our learners to learn ! We had to cancel lessons because the beach was red flagged so we postponed classes until the end of the Easter when the conditions decreased. It was a little bit like Winter as Easter was earlier this year and the water wasn't quite warm enough for a Summer wetsuit. However, we must thank the patience of our students who waited days on end to get in the sea and go surfing when the conditions finally cleaned up, and reminded us just how beautiful Sennen can be all year round.
We will keep this short and sweet.
So far, so good, and when I say good, I mean the best wave I have ever surfed.
Above is Chicama. Where the desert meets the world's longest left hander.
I rode a wave for over a minute and it wasn't even considered a good day.

Be nice people... Sam :)
Ever wanted to introduce someone special to surfing ? Christmas is nearly here, so what better way than to order a Sennen surfing lesson voucher for that lucky person :) We offer 1 to five day courses and the vouchers can be activated for when ever they like ! All surf lesson vouchers are currently on a spacial offer for Crimbo.....
Little Alfie took to the water like a duck. Our head coach Sam Smart gave Alf a private one to one lesson and he was up and riding within 20 minutes. What a cool little surfer dude...
Seb must of thought his dream winter would never end....A Carve front cover shot, a new sponsorship deal with Vans and Gunther Rohn surfboards, perfect waves all around Bali and Sumatra etc...etc...
Well unfortunately it has, deep in the jungle on the Mentawai islands.
Seb scored a RIPCURL 'wild card' entry into the 2013 Asian Mentawai pro series up agains the best asian surfers in the world and a few other wild card entries from various countries who were lucky enough to make selection. Seb went down in style in the 3rd round, finishing as the highest place westerner. Heres a few words from Seb when asked to comment about his overall experience and about the talents of the Asian surfers, he replied, “Even though I didn't make it past Round 3, this has been so much fun and a great experience for me, so I couldn't be much happier to be here right now. Before coming I knew some of the top guys like Marlon and Pepen and Garut, but seeing how many really good guys there are here did surprise me. Guys that I've never even heard of like Robot (Wayan Susiana) surf so good, its impressive. This has been a fantastic trip and I'm super happy to be here, and I'm glad we have a few days left to enjoy more of this place.”
Seb's flying back to the UK in a couple of weeks to hopefully maintain this run of good form and help our students progress their surfing at the Smart Surf School..
Well done bro. We're all proud of ya !
